Overview
All faculty and staff who are separating employment from CSUCI must go through the separation/clearance process. Full and Part-time Faculty members who are expected to return during the following semester may be exempt from this process, at the discretion of Faculty Affairs. If an employee is retiring and returning as a rehired annuitant, the department still needs to complete the separation/clearance process. This process ensures campus compliance with final pay laws.
Process
HR must be contacted prior to any separations due to disciplinary action. The department designee, upon notification of a pending employee separation, must prepare the following and submit to HR no later than (5) business days prior to the separation of employment date:
- Separation/Clearance form (even if clearances are pending).
- It is the responsibility fo the department to ensure employess have no outstanding obligations and notify HR when the employee is clear in all areas.
- Resignation Letter (only for voluntary separations).
- Time and Attendance Report
