Access CI Virtual Lab via RDP client

Accessing CI Virtual Labs and Desktops via the Windows App

Accessing CI Virtual Labs and Desktops via web browser is the simplest way to connect to campus resources; however, you may experience connection issues from time to time. Alternatively, you can utilize the Windows App to connect to CI's remote desktops and labs. Please note, resources may be added, changed, or removed based on changes made by your administrator.

Below are instructions on how to connect to these remote resources using an RDP client.

 

Windows

1. Install the Windows App from the Windows Store

Download from the Windows Store here:

2. Sign in to the Windows App

  1. Launch the Windows App from the Start Menu.
  2. On the Sign in window, type in your CSUCI email address and click Next
  3. You should then be greeted with a MyCI Login prompt. Sign in with your CSUCI user name and password and use Duo to authenticate

After you have successfully signed in, you should see a list of the resources you can access.

You can launch one of two virtual desktops.

  1. CIVLStudents-NEW - This is the preferred virtual desktop space for academic work. This virtual desktop provides access to campus licensed applications.
  2. CIVL - Testing Space - This virtual desktop is for academic testing purposes, please only use if directed by your instructor.

Resources may be added, changed, or removed based on changes made by your administrator.

 

macOS

1. Install the macOS Windows App client from the App Store

To get started, download and install the Windows App on your macOS device. 

2. Sign in to the Windows App

  1. Launch the Windows App.
  2. On the Sign in window, type in your CSUCI email address and click Next
  3. You should then be greeted with a MyCI Login prompt. Sign in with your CSUCI user name and password and use Duo to authenticate
