Working from Home or Off-Campus?

Whether you are working from home, are out on the road traveling, or just at a coffee shop and need to check your CI voicemail, you can always follow the instructions below to call into your full 10-digit campus phone number (805-437-XXXX) and access voicemail. This always works, but you do have to wait for the full complement of rings before the phone system forwards you to the voicemail system (usually about 4 rings) and if you do this a lot, this 4 rings can seem tedious. Here is a FASTER way to access your voicemail from anywhere, any time you are checking from off-campus.

  1. Dial 805-437-8850 (This step replaces "Press the Voicemail Button" in the below list of procedures)
  2. Press star (*) when voicemail picks-up
  3. Dial your 4-digit Extension then Press #
  4. Enter your Password Then Press #
  5. Follow the appropriate procedures listed below.

(If you manage multiple mailboxes for your department, you can check them all during the same session that you started following the above instructions. When you are done checking your box, simply press star (*) button repeatedly until you are back to the top menu where the system asks you to enter your extension, enter another extension and password and work through as many boxes as you need to.)

If your department has authorized you to use the Jabber Client while working from home, view the Jabber Client How to Get Setup Guide (Word Doc).
