Housing / Residential Network Connectivity

Overview

Students in student housing are provided with wireless Internet access via the CI, CI_GUEST, and Eduroam WiFi networks. Town Center dormitories are outfitted with wireless Internet connections independent from the campus networks. Credentials for connecting to wireless networks in Town Center dorms is provided in the My Housing link within the Student Housing Portal in MyCI or located on a placard on the refrigerator.

Students who wish to connect electronic devices other than computers and phones (i.e. game consoles, streaming devices, handhelds, smart TV’s and other Internet-enabled devices) to the Internet via the campus wireless system may use the wireless networks “CI_GUEST 5ghz” or “CI_GUEST” for this purpose.

Wireless devices are registered in MyCI under CI Wireless Settings using the instructions found at Instructions for registering game consoles and other Internet enabled devices.

Please note that personal printers cannot be connected to the CI, CI_GUEST, or Eduroam networks. Personal printers should be connected to devices via USB or via Bluetooth if enabled on the device.
