Tips for using the Solution Center portal

The CSUCI Solution Center service catalog and knowledgebase (powered by TeamDynamix) can be used to quickly and easily get help with everything from accounts to wireless network. Both the service catalog and knowledgebase are available to all students, faculty, and staff who have a myCI account.

Because there are so many articles and services available in the Solution Center, here are a few tips to help make this self-service portal more useful and easy to use.

1. Get familiar with the basics

If you're looking for guides or basic information, go to our Knowledge Base.

If you're requesting a service or reporting a problem, the Service Catalog (listed as "Services" in the menu bar) will route your request to the right group to ensure that it is processed quickly.

If you've recently called in or submitted a requestMy Tickets will give you a progress update or allow you to provide additional information.

2. Use the Search Box

Rather than poke around trying to find the exact service you need, try using the search box in the upper right-hand corner of the page. Try entering in keywords that match what you're looking for, like "new computer" or "wireless help".

More tips:

  1. You may see more services if you log into the service catalog first. Some services are only available to staff and faculty and aren't visible if you aren't logged in.
  2. The search box in the upper right searches both the service catalog as well as the knowledge base. To search just the service catalog, click on "Services" and then "Search" in the submenu (see screenshot, below).

3. Create "Favorites" for Services that You Use Frequently

If there are services that you use a lot, you can add them to your favorites. Just click on the "Add to Favorites" button (only visible if you are logged in) to add a service to your favorites.

To access your favorite services, click on "My Favorite" under "Services".

4. Forgot Your Dolphin Name, Dolphin ID or Password?

Please review the "Accounts & Passwords" knowledgebase articles for instructions for how to retrieve your Dolphin access credentials for myCI access.

If you continue to experience problems, please call the Solution Center at 805-437-8552.

5. Have problems submitting a ticket in the Solution Center because of problems logging onto myCI, or if you are a campus guest?

You can still submit a service request without having to login to myCI.
